STERTIL KONI CONTINUES TO SUPPORT STAFFORDSHIRE FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service recently extended its long-standing relationship with Stertil Koni with a substantial order for nine hydraulic vehicle lifts. These included two 25-tonnes capacity 4 post lifts plus another four post lift rated at 7 tonnes and a set of six 8.2 tonnes wireless mobile column lifts. The mobile column lifts were purchased to equip a new workshop for the Fire and Rescue Service, which operates 30 fire stations across Staffordshire.
The ST 4250 4 post 25-tonne lifts were supplied with 11.5 metres platforms and the unique design of these 4 post lifts eliminates the need for cross beams, ensuring unobstructed access for operatives and tools to both vehicles and the lift itself. This also means that users can choose the ideal working width to set up, depending on the type of vehicles to be serviced. The Stertil Koni ST 4250 offers a maximum lift height of 1.9 metres which is achieved in just 72 seconds, making it one of the fastest heavy-duty vehicle lifts in the world.
Controlling the lift is made easy and safe for the user from the well-positioned control panel. An LCD screen simplifies the programming of a range of functions, such as lifting heights, and can also be used to display system information. The ST 4250 is supplied complete with a full lighting kit and air-operated jacking beams for wheel-free maintenance.
The 8.2 tonnes capacity ST 1082W wireless mobile column lifts specified by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue are the most innovative and among the fastest in the world. Positioning of the wireless columns is flexible: they can be used in any configuration around a vehicle. Also, with no power or communication cables to connect, set-up time is drastically reduced thereby making the system fully operational much more quickly. Each column has its own control box and provides a lifting capacity of 8200kg. This means that the system's total lifting capacity may be increased simply by adding more columns.
The ST 1082W ensures safe lifting up to a height of 1.85 metres which can be reached in just 89 seconds. With no wires or cables on the workshop floor, the working environment is safer and, with no power supply necessary, the system can be used indoors or out. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue specified the seven mobile column lifts to service and repair a range of vehicles including fire tenders, vans and cars.
