Stertil Koni lifts bring Marbill's workshop up to date

Independent coach operator Marbill Coach Services Ltd has updated its vehicle lifting equipment with the purchase of two sets of ST1082 mobile column lifts from Stertil Koni. The wireless, bluetooth-enabled lifts will replace Marbill's more traditional cabled lifts, which were easily damaged and expensive to maintain.

Each vehicle in Marbill's fleet of 74 has a full inspection every four weeks, which frequently results in road springs, airbags or even wheels being replaced. The Stertil Koni ST1082 mobile lift provides maximum to the underside of raised vehicles to enable work to be carried out at a safe and comfortable height. The lift also features a secure wireless control system that eliminates cables on the workshop floor thereby eliminating the risk of tripping. Significantly, health and safety is further improved by the removal of inspection pits.

Marbill's previous vehicle lifts had connecting cables and numerous electrical plugs; damage to the lifts was easily caused and repairs were expensive, with load nuts alone costing over 300. Because the Stertil Koni models are cable-free, set-up time is significantly reduced and, with no power supply necessary, the system can be used inside or outdoors. Positioning of the wireless mobile column lifts is equally flexible: each column has its own control box and they can be used in any combination around the vehicle "We will use the new lifts daily for service and repair work on our own fleet, as well as maintaining other operators' vehicles," Says David Barr of Marbill Coach Services, "So we need to be sure of their reliability. Stertil Koni has an excellent reputation: the new lifts will not only be considerably better than our previous ones in terms of quality and ease of maintenance, they will also make life easier and safer for our mechanics."

Each column on the ST1082 has a lifting capacity of 8200 kg; to increase lifting capacity, simply add more columns, up to a maximum of 28. Total lifting height is 1.85 metres and this can be reached in a swift 89 seconds. The lift uses Stertil's maintenance-free, self-lubricating, synthetic runner wheel system, which is covered by a lifetime guarantee.

The family business of Marbill Coach Services was established in 1980 and is today the largest independent coach operator in the West of Scotland, with more than 70 vehicles covering all of mainland Britain plus destinations in Europe. Marbill Coaches strives to be the best in its industry, both on the road and in the maintenance and safety standard of its fleet.

Stertil Koni's vehicle lifts are renowned for their reliability, long lifespan and high resale value. Designed for intensive and problem-free use, all models are rigorously tested during development and Stertil guarantees to keep parts in stock for at least 25 years after production. Stertil Koni was the first lifting system manufacturer to be awarded ISO 9001 and is part of the Stertil Group.
