STERTIL KONI SUPER-HEAVY DUTY SKYLIFT

FIRST UK CUSTOMER FOR STERTIL KONI SUPER-HEAVY DUTY SKYLIFT

Nottingham-based haulier D L Rogers & Sons has become the first UK customer to order the brand new 35-tonne version of Stertil Koni’s heavy-duty Skylift. The purchase will help the company achieve its aim of offering clients a full package of heavy haulage workshop services.

D L Rogers runs a fleet of tractors, trailers and forklift trucks which are serviced in-house, as well as undertaking contract maintenance and MOT preparation for other haulage clients in a 4000 ft2 garage facility. Its new Skylift 350 is to be used for all aspects of heavy haulage maintenance and is even capable of lifting fully-loaded trailers in an emergency. The new lift is expected to significantly improve not just efficiency, but also working conditions in the garage, where servicing and repairs had previously been undertaken from a standard workshop pit.

The Skylift 350 is an important addition to Stertil Koni’s range of ultimate heavy-duty lifts. Efficient, versatile and safe, its 35-tonne vertical lifting capacity means it can cope with even the heaviest haulage vehicles and its integral ten-metre ramp allows it to accommodate their extra length. Surface- and flush-mounted versions of the Skylift are available to ensure maximum space utilisation whilst the absence of a base frame simplifies the movement of equipment such as oil-drainers and transmission jacks under raised vehicles.

The lack of crossbeams gives unobstructed access to the underside of a vehicle from all sides, making it safer and more comfortable for employees, as well as enabling servicing to be completed more quickly. Despite its strength, the Skylift isn’t slow: an impressive lifting height of 1.75 metres is reached in just 89 seconds. Add to this the easy installation, portability and minimal maintenance of the Skylift and it’s easy to see why it’s so popular with heavy transport users.

“We chose a lift from Stertil Koni because they offered a good product, well made, at the right price. The Stertil salesman Jim O’Keefe spent a lot of time discussing and evaluating our requirements. His knowledge and expertise was invaluable,” says Paul Rogers, Managing Director of D L Rogers & Sons. “They also offer excellent after-sales back-up and have a reputation for reliability. All in all, I’m confident it was the right decision for us.”

D L Rogers has been established for 38 years and has developed a fleet of 20 trucks and 80 trailers. The company aims to offer a full workshop package including accident damage, paint-shop facility for refurbishments and rolling road and tachograph calibration. It also provides vehicle diagnostics for all common make HGVs and is expanding its in-house training facility to include driver CPC training and forklift handling courses.

Stertil Koni is part of the international Stertil Group and was the first lifting system manufacturer to be awarded ISO 9001. The company’s vehicle lifts are known for their reliability, long lifespan and high resale value.
